My Life In Pictures

06 November 2016

Critters, critters, critters everywhere.
Little dude (who belongs to friends) with the big eyes that makes your heart melt.
Big dude with chihuahua = my everything.
Rooms with a view.
Faded denim.
Dirty boots.
Trails hiked.
Halloween cakes made in abundance.
Weird things in the woods.
Changing leaves.
Botanical gardens.
Temps in the 70's.

I know y'all seen many things on this list before but, hey, I'm a creature of habit (an armchair traveler, if you will) as much as I am a intrepid (and sometimes a somewhat tepid) explorer.  And honestly?  I'm grateful for the mundanity that is my life as of late.  With the nation this close to imploding and people being downright nasty, there's something healing and comforting in that walk around the neighborhood while looking up at the leaves swinging in the trees.  Or binge-watching season 2 of iZombie.  Or taking a moment to take in the view from the window at work.  Or putting on comfy jeans and just chilling in the back yard with a good book.  Sometimes the everyday is the everything you need...

  1. Oh yes it's the simple things isn't it?! I love walking around my neighbourhood and seeing the same old bloke going for a walk like I always do, seeing familiar cafes and sights.
I wish you guys all the best this Wednesday :) I feel sad it won't be at all as exciting and hopeful as it was 8 years ago (and also :( to see the Obamas leave).

    1. Oh, la! This was an election for the history books. My friends and I are, to be quite honest, devastated with the results. But we are trying to stay positive and begin working towards building a stronger community in Athens that supports one another (in a variety of expressions) and addresses issues like diversity, racism, xenophobia, BLM, etc. Please keep your positive energy coming our way. We desperately need it!

    2. I'm so sorry about all this :( :( it's stressing out a lot of Aussies, I can't imagine how you all feel. His first interview is playing tonight in Australia and there's no way in hell I'm watching it!
      Stay strong folks ❤

    3. Thanks Emma. With every news cycle I hear something that terrifies me more but I'm also running into huge circles of support and love. Every time I become deflated there's someone lifting me up!
