“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
A number of months ago, after reading some online articles about the benefits of salt therapy, I bought my first Himalayan salt lamp for the bedroom. I needed help with my stuffy head and I wanted to try a way that didn't involve more medication in my life so I thought why not? At best I'd have some relief from my mucus fest and at worst I'd have a beautiful lamp casting a pretty pink glow. Well, fast forward to today and you'll find a salt lamp in every room of our house in order to support my quest for clearer sinuses and an overall stronger lung/body function. Branching out from there I've incorporated salt based neti pot rinses that are a weekly and sometimes daily happening. I even went as far as Asheville, NC in my search for a salt cave to relax in with friends and take in some healing, soothing vibes. Overall, I've seen improvements and I'm breathing easier both literally and figuratively thanks to the introduction of 'alternative' medicines like these.
Annnnd you'll find the newest addition to my salt-for-the-better-of-my-body obsession residing on my nightstand where it's always just a reach away - my salt inhaler. I spend about 20 minutes before bed every single night taking long, even pulls that help clear and cleanse my body...and it helps me relax too. Brady uses his as a way to help curb his nicotine cravings when they randomly strike. So many good things to say about this product! Like, how about it:
- promotes better sleep
- helps with sinus ailments (I breathe out from my nose after taking a deep inhale and I also have a small nasal inhaler that I use during the day)
- reduces swelling in the body
- lowers blood pressure
- reduces mucus buildup
- improves lung capacity (from not only the healing salt but also the deep breath exercises)
Now, I'm not a doctor so please take my words with a grain of salt (ha, punny!) and do your own research before beginning a new routine of medicinal care. What works for me may not work for you but I feel like this is a very safe and affordable way to try to treat certain ailments and/or improve overall health.
Just FYI this isn't a sponsored post. I just wanted to share a small bit of some of the things I do in my life that I feel makes me happier and healthier in the long run...

This is of interest to me as someone who suffers from hayfever/sinus year round. I'm not into alternative medicine as a rule (was an RN for years so there's that) but I can't argue that it works sometimes (tea tree oil is magical to me). Thanks for this! :)
