Well, I went from a post about spring in Georgia to posting this conglomeration of old photos in what's now summmmmmmmmmertime. I started working overtime to help pay for our vacation (which we are just now back from) and what free time I had was spent in doing a ton of things to prep for our leaving. Had to thrift some gear for Puerto Rico (and maybe a few new things for the house too), dog sit, get the casa organized for the house sitter, clean the house so the house sitter wouldn't think we were slobs, snuggle animals, etc, etc. Totally worth it to be able to travel again but I have to say that I'm so, so, SO glad to be home. This trip was the most difficult we've ever taken due to a variety of reasons (um, food poisoning anyone?)...but I'll explain more later. I don't want to get too far ahead even though I'm behind!
top to bottom // left to right:
/ My friend's rescue Chihuahua is the most watchful creature in the world but he finally warmed up to me during our hangout day...
/ 70's painting of roses make me happy...
/ Then I found a spot for it on my growing gallery wall...
/ A sweet someone brought me gardenias! They smelled like the south, no doubt about that...
/ Found this light-up picture of waterfalls and could not resist buying it. It even has a waterfall soundtrack! It's the silliest thing but it reminds me of Krka National Park in Croatia and our whirlwind Europe trip. Good memories, that. And Big John loves to model...look at that smile!
/ Leroy went on a strict diet before we left but it went out the window while we were gone. He's such a food jerk and we couldn't let our poor friend who was housesitting be the recipient of his constant screeching. Now that we're back home he's back on the slimming routine. And he's not happy. Not one bit.
/ A perfect example of Leroy's displeasure...
/ Hudson the Betta passed away while we were in Canada (he was over 6 years old) and our replacement fish Omega died after a few months in his new home. I just didn't have the heart to get another fish after all that loss so I bought some fake goldfish and a fun jellyfish. Totally keeping it this way. Unless another rescue fish comes on the scene...
/ More gardenias in my himalayan salt vase. Can you say 'obsessed'?
So, yep. There's all that! Hopefully next week I'll be back with some fun photos and stories (and maybe a few 'ooooh, that's terrible!' stories too...hehehe) and the like.
Hope y'all are having a good start to your summer so far! I've been seeing lots of trips, grilling, sunglass selfies in friends blogs/Instagram so it looks like for many the answer is 'hell yeah!' Niiiiice.

Today I'm grateful for home and hearth...

I just started reading your blog and I love it. Glad you are back home safe and sound. Can't wait to hear about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteDaw, thanks! :D I popped by your blog and I see we have a LOT of the same interests. I'm making plans for the doll head trail within the next few weeks...yay! And those abandoned prison photos are amazing. So glad we found each other.
Deletehahahaha your cat cracks me up! That is exactly me on a diet ;)
ReplyDeleteHe just went back to the vet today after all the diet tricks and guess what? HE HASN'T LOST A SINGLE POUND. So all that meowing and grumping was for nothing so far. :/ Poor guy.
