top to bottom / left to right:
// Get ready for a ton of flower pictures. Starting with these golden yellow Buttercups. Because, spring!
// Another shot of Toby's tree in full bloom. I swear it's grown another 2 inches...
// We are continue our search for waterfalls in northern Georgia. Here's a small one at the base of Duke Creek Falls outside of the sort-of-Bavarian Alpine Village of Helen, Ga. We've been in the area, which is about an hour or so from Athens, more times that we can count even though Brady absolutely hates Helen. But he loves a) waterfalls and b) me so he sucks it up...
// Speaking of Alpine-esque things, how about us witnessing the Salzburg Marionette Theater in action?!? The 3 of us - me, Brady & our co-worker Linzi - had a blast and couldn't stop smiling and laughing. It was a production of The Sound Of Music and it blew my miiiiind how wacky weird puppets can look when prancing around stage, playing guitars, scrubbing the abbey floor, etc. I was at the edge of my seat for the whole two hours. Yes, I sang along to every song...especially this one!
// Another trip to Helen, Ga required a stop at one of the two miniature golf locations in town. Let's just say that it wasn't my best game ever...
// OMG. It's 2 (TWO!!!) pictures of me in a set. Whoa! Anyhoo, we've been hiking a number times in the last few weeks in order to continue to build up my body's stamina. Between that, the gym and lots of work on the weekend, my legs are feeling pretty sore and miserable. But when you set goals like 'hey, you're going to see a freaking waterfall at the end of this exercise' it tends to get easier and easier. I'm hoping that I continue to feel healthier and stronger over the next few months...
// Our cat Leroy is still a kitten (he's just now a year old) but he's absolutely huge. We're lucky he's a sweetheart most of the day but we do get scratched from time-to-time...and when there's 23 pounds behind it? Ouch.
// Just wanted to share the lake of pollen that collected behind the bakery the other day...
// I found an excellent book on the life of southern icons and they had a whole chapter dedicated to Booker T. Washington. I've been reading about W. E. B. Du Bois and since he was a critic of Washington, I was glad to have a number of varying viewpoints via the materials at hand. I'm back into researching so many topics...
// Wysteria. Every. Single. Place. In. Athens. Everywhere.
// Trumpet Honeysuckle is popping up in all kind of cool places 'round here. It really is like a floral wonderland at the moment!
// Long shadows and more flowers...
So, flowers, flowers, flowers, waterfalls, Alpine themed things. Yep. My life in a nutshell lately.
Hope your week has been great so far. Happy Tuesday, y'all!
Oh, and thanks to all who took the time to read my previous post. That means a lot!
