Travel Adventures // Outside Of Asheville, Part 1...

23 March 2016

A few weekends ago I found myself in west Asheville...relaxing on an organic farm (complete with bees!) with 4 people who have been in my life for over 10 years now.  Sadly, we hadn't all been in the same spot for a good while but we were lucky enough to finagle some time together and change all that nonsense!  There was wine (for them...I've been off the sauce for a long while now since I've been working out like a fiend to get healthy), Lapsang Souchong hot tea, more food than one can shake a stick at, short rambles around the property mooing at cows and lots of rounds of Cards Against Humanity (my first time playing and I loooooved it).  I also got to eat brunch at Sunny Point Cafe and pick up a Himalayan salt lamp.  Very vacationy, eh?  Blisssss!

The house we stayed at had the most beautiful floors and was cozy beyond belief.  It was a straw bale home with solar power water heating but had every single thing we needed in terms of cooking implements, a bangin' stereo system and lots of space.  Personal touches were everywhere and the sunsets/views were breathtaking.  I slept soundly every night thanks in part to the creek that gurgled under my window and woke with the birdies (and lowing cows) every morning...

It also had lots of non-poisonous snakes (this one's a black racer) that we let hang out with us...

If you're interested in staying in the Asheville area and want a bigger, comfy home to spend your time in, then email me and I'll share the information of our vacation spot!

Today, I'm thankful for friends both near and far.

    1. Y'all went to Sunny Point Cafe when vacationing outside of Asheville...did you like it? I think I ordered the wrong thing since mine was meh. :(

We had to go by the Odditorium recently and I really enjoyed it even though I was drinking soda water the whole time. Every single spot you look you ending up spotting something weird!
