Montreal - Gardens Of Light...

15 October 2015

While in Montreal about a month ago, we ended up hearing about the opening of the Festival of Lights and make a snap decision to take the Metro from where we staying in the Latin Quarter out to the gardens.  We arrived a bit early and it wasn't quite dark yet but the area was already becoming reeeeeeaaaaally crowded so we decided to go forward with our tour and then go again at full dark later in the night.

On of the cool things about seeing these paper and light creations in the light is that you can really appreciate the effort it took to make the sculptures.  Plus I was able to really see all the landscaping and floral layout in and around the area.  Pretty coolio!

We went back later as planned and were able to listen by a young lady playing traditional songs on an Erhu.  I got goosebumps hearing the songs and watching the lanterns sway in the darkness.  Then those Canadian mosquitoes came out and ruined the party for us...

Oh, and go here to see a video of the event.  If you're in or near Montreal then it runs til the 1st of November...
