Airlie Park - Wilmington, NC...

11 September 2015

We only had about 30 minutes to walk around this beautiful art park in Wilmington, NC last weekend.  When your husband is playing piano at the wedding you're attending, well, you don't have much time to get out and do stuff.  I was happy to have the spare moments to stroll and to visit the bottle chapel built in memory/honor of Minnie Evans.  I kinda like folk art, you know?  Just a little bit!

Besides seeing all the smiling faces at the wedding (made more prevalent by Brady's accidentally playing the wedding march early due to a mix up in signals...it was a perfect comedic moment!) this was the best part of visiting Wilmington.  It was noisy and buggy, and we stayed at the shittiest/skeeziest hotel in the world because we were traveling with the dogs.  It was so bad we left the damn country and went to Canada.  Really, we're in Canada!  Montreal to be exact...sitting in bed and eating croissants.  Ok, we didn't come here to escape the hotel but it makes for a great story.  Our almost month long road trip truly started the moment I handed over my formal dress to the in-laws along with two depressed Chihuahuas (they hate traveling but are deliriously happy to be staying with Brady's folks because they get so spoiled) and then watched North Carolina disappear in the review mirror.  I'll share a bit more about our stops so far later...

Happy Friday y'all!

For more on Minnie Evans go here...you'll be glad you did.
