Summer So Far...

06 August 2015

It's August y'all...and I often feel like my days are divide between being insanely hectic or as slow as molasses.  Yes, I went there.  A southernism at its finest!

What I've done since the summer began...

/ explored several local towns that I'd been really wanting to visit - go here and here to see more
/ finally visited family in the Golden Isles and celebrated my Grandparent's 75 wedding anniversary
/ took a tour of Sapelo and bought an amazing cookbook from a local resident
/ read over 10 books on my wishlist (I'm updating my Goodreads account so you can take a peek there and find out what they were)
/ bought a doughnut maker for the bakery...vegan doughnuts are proving to be a bit more difficult than I thought
/ designed my next tattoo which will feature memories from the Europe trip
/ thrifted the entire VC Andrews book collection (over 40+) for less than $5...I loved reading these twisted stories during middle & high school
/ discovered that a few past dislikes - cookies in my milkshake, coconut cake, massages - have become my favorite things now...I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks?
/ nursed Ms Tullah Belle back to health with lots of help from our vet
/ started a new puzzle featuring some very regal otters chilling on a log in the river...it's spectacular
/ bought a kayak!!!...but haven't had time to take it out yet
/ completely reorganized my clothes and designed a new free standing closet for the bedroom since our old, old, OLD house has no built-in closets
/ picked some local GA muscadines and will be making a pie with tomorrow...yum!
/ came up with 3 different routes for our upcoming trip to Canada...a little more than 3 weeks before we hit the road for a month
/ ordered a new camera lens for the ol' camera...I can't wait to take pictures of the trip with it
/ found some fun knick-knacks for the house including the old owl wall you see in the picture...it's been a thrifting paradise lately

Whew!  I can't wait to see what the rest of summer holds...

How about you?  Have any accomplishments / goals for summer 2015?
