Return...
28 April 2015
Brady and I have been back in the states for a few weeks now...and I must admit that it still feels a little strange to wake up in our own bed. Work has claimed our immediate attention since there are festivals, graduations, bike races and a gazillion other events happening in the glorious Athens spring weather we've been having lately. Despite that though we've made time to cook meals together like we did regularly in Europe and to take small trips out to parks to kayak or just take quiet walks. Reflection has been front and center as has new passion for travel and adventure and the future, and I could not be happier with how I feel right now. Europe changed my life.
That said, you may have noticed that the blog went private for a bit. I had someone from my past contact me via the blog and I honestly had no idea how to respond so I just shut it down til I decided what to do. And what I'm doing is moving forward with no regrets, no negativity and no desire to open up doors to that part of my past. I've learned from my mistakes. I've become much more patient and caring. I'm not angry anymore. I'm so different than that struggling early 30's version of me because of that version of me. So, person from my past, I wish you well. I wish things had been better for us both. I wish you happiness. And I wish that your future be bright. And a bid you a fond farewell.
Accept what is. Let go what was. Believe in what will be.

You're back! So lovely to hear from you and I'm glad you had an ace time in Europe. Travelling does change you doesn't it? Even the sky looked different to me when I returned from backpacking years ago.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know how to handle the mutual advertising thing while you were offline/away for a bit so I took yours down out of respect to you but now I've put your banner back on my sidebar - I hope that's ok. Let me know if not.
I'd love to see some photos from your trip too!
