The other day Brady and I decided to take full advantage of the cool temperatures by busting out the good ol' tandem bike. We rarely ride it because it is a lot of work to navigate that thing so it isn't fun in hot weather (read: almost all the time in GA) and, to be honest, I've been terrified of it due to my previous issues with balance. Well, all of the Pilates and yoga this summer paid off because we rode that thing like champs. Hills? Bring them! Rogue dogs chasing us? No problem! Traffic? Eh, still not a fan of heavy traffic whilst on the tandem so we took an hour ride along parts of the Greenway Trail we hadn't been to yet.
And we found some spooky abandoned buildings and super spooky tree!
That tree reminds me of the one from Sleepy Hollow...the one with the heads in it? Blargh! And I can't find any reference to why these buildings are here or what they were at one time. Any Athens folks know? It seems as if now they are temporary shelters for train jumpers since train tracks, both abandoned and current, are nearby. We found campfires, cooking stuff, clothing and more at the place but left everything just as it was.
Other than that tree and the watchful emptiness, the place didn't seem too weird.
Nope, nothing weird at all...
