Date Night Dress...

On Wednesday night Brady and I took a walk Downtown to have a celebratory date night.  Now, I never go out at night much anymore since I'm up with the pups at dawn...and Brady's a musician which means he comes home in the wee hours of the morning and his new job keeps him up late too.  We're on totally different schedules right now!  So, as you can imagine, date nights have become a bit of a rarity around here...we make the best of them when we can. That said, our night was pretty amazing and I felt super comfortable in a new-with-tags transitional dress I found at the local thrift store for $5.

The highlight of the evening was watching Hannibal Burgess perform at the 40 Watt Club.  It was Brady's first comedy show ever so he really enjoyed himself and we got there early enough to find good seats.  The latter made me super happy since I'm not a happy stander!  We then went to a few other places we'd never been to and then ended our night at The Grill like we always do...it's become our 'thing' and it fits our budget.

A group of guys who sat at the table next to us during the comedy show couldn't stop talking about my pin.  Since they were fairly inebriated, they must have repeated their sentiments about a gazillion times.  After I said "Oh, you like the pin?  Thanks!" about 20 times I began to ignore them but I was still a bit tickled about the fact that they loved the thing so much.

My favorite part of the outfit was my newly acquired purse...25 cents.  What what?  It is great for any season and is big enough to hold a few necessities for a walk Downtown...and it looks like a quilt!  I grabbed it up and have been wearing it non-stop since then.

Sadly enough, it looks as if our next date night is some weeks away due to friends visiting (not that I'm sad about that because I can't wait to see them!), work schedules, game days to play Downtown and homework piling up.  I'll stay positive and think about how much more I'll appreciate the time we'll have together then...

How about you?  Do you have any special date night rituals or plans?

PS - Remember to happy with yourself.  Don't let things like clothing size (I'm a 14) get in the way of you living life!  Stop by Rachele's blog The Nearsighted Owl to find out more about her I Am Proud Of My Size link up.  You'll be glad you did.
