You know that feeling when it's still summer but you can feel the slightest hint of fall in the air? That's what this thrifted dress reminds me of. Cool and swingy but with a touch of the there's-a-cardigan-waiting-to-be-worn-just-around-the-corner feel.
My plans for today include an number of things but two really stand out as happy-joy-fun-times.
One plan is reading up on one of my favorite photographers, Alfred Stieglitz, who was instrumental in helping photography be considered an art form on the the previously considered 'professional' level of sculpting and painting. His work is hauntingly beautiful and he did a series featuring his future wife and lover, Georgia O'Keeffe. Another one of my favorite photographers, Dorothy Norman, was highly influenced by Stieglitz and documented, and participated in, an enormous amount of social change. Considering my recent, and possibly unhealthy, obsession with my camera, I thought it necessary to brush up on my knowledge of seminal photographers and I jumped at the chance to buy this book during a recent thrifting excursion. So, my afternoon is booked. Ha! Booked. Get it?
Since I have photography on the brain, the other fun thing I have planned is creating a series of photos involving my ever growing found-feather collection. I've been gifted with 3 owl feathers since our move to Athens! If everything turns out like I like, then I'll share the results with you sometime.
And maybe I should sweep my floor? I see Winthrope's hair sneaking into the photos...
Bye now! Happy Friday to everyone!
PS - Everything I'm wearing is, of course, thrifted.
PPS - Oh, and don't forget to be proud of your body, yourself and your size. I'm a 14/16 and happy as can be...
