My Life In Pictures...

14 July 2012
I realized that it has been a good while since I've posted some simple photo shots to the blog.   There are quite a few pictures and stories to share from the last few weeks.  On a day like today, it's great to be reminded all of the small moments of joy and pleasure and living and being that makes up one's day, week, month and year.

Perfected making sunny side up eggs and roasted potatoes.  Yes!

I let Brady have my green desk and I moved my base of operations to the dining room.  What?  I know, right?  But I like using the table in a room with few doors and lots of windows.  Weird, yes, but I like open space in a house...or the sense of open space.  Anyhoo, I'm happy with my new work area.

Visited the old trestle in Dudley Park again.  I just love it.  It smells like tar and cedar.  Oh, and it is the same trestle featured on R.E.M.'s album Murmur.  I didn't know this til last week?!  The fate of this trestle is still uncertain thanks to budget cuts and maintenance costs...which is sad.  I think if it's torn down then Athens will lose a bit of history...but I understand that we live in one of the poorest counties in the US.  WSJ wrote an article about the trestle that is very representational to the many issues involving not only the trestle's fate but also the woes that plague Athens in many ways.  The story is here.

Another #nomakeupportrait submission.  Awesome movement by Rebecca from Manzanita.

Clawdia can be sweet...sometimes.

How I end my day.

Very handsome doggy in profile.

Figs are growing.

Something to make me laugh.  Something to inspire.  Something I'm hoping will help with my horribly inept makeup skills.

Lunch with friends at an Athenian institution.

One of the many leaks that plagued us during that massive downpour earlier in the week.  The downpour that sent a limb crashing into our roof.

Southern Soul Food Friday at Peaches.

Spent almost 2 hours at the vet with Toby yesterday because of a sudden onset of major skin problems.  Poor guy. You can't tell from the photo but he's lost most of his hair on his back...all within less than a week.  Diagnosis?  Allergies.  Thyroid.  Got a handful of antibiotics and other medications.  Um, great.  He and his Mama both have allergy/thyroid issues.

My view for most of the day today.  I've been feeling super blah due to a blinding headache that is 90% weather and 10% red wine consumption related.  Maybe 80/20.  Ok, 70/30.

I plan to spend the rest of the day watching the French version of Beauty and The Beast, eating lots of bread and cheese products, drinking lots of iced tea with lemon, and reading, if headache allows, my new book The Chaperone.  The latter is the fictional adventures of the traveling companion to a 15 year-old Louise Brooks.  Anything Louise Brooks and liberating fascinates me, and I can't wait to get started on this tome.

Have a great Saturday!
