My Life In Pictures...

10 June 2012
Here's a quick peek of my life the last few days via Instagram photos...

A delightful dinner on the porch...smoke Gouda, peppered goat cheese, local raspberries and blackberries, fresh toasted pecans, and local rustic bread.  So very, very good.

Sweet Clawdia got stung on the face by a ground wasp!  You can't really see the swelling here but trust me, it was the size of a golf ball.  She didn't seem to mind too much...and was even playing in the backyard again shortly after it happened.

Waiting in the car for Brady to return with yet another Jittery Joe's coffee.  *sigh*  It is way too conveniently located...

My new hobby!  I went to the Athens-Clarke County public library for the first time ever...and came back with some great books on wild foraging.  There will probably be a lot of postings about what I've learned...and soon!

This isn't via Instagram.  This is the view from the TOP of the hill that I finally climbed...remember from this post?  These old train trestles are probably 5 stories high.  I mean, they are IN THE TREE TOPS.  How scary/exhilarating it must have been to drive over these back in the day....

Oh, and don't forget about the great giveaway!

  1. My fiance and I just love the dinner that you had. And locally obtained = awesome.

I really can't wait for your posts on foraging. Are you going to be going for woodland specifics? I'm assuming woodlands since most of your photos have been in forested parks.

Overall, your life looks wicked awesome.

  2. The great thing with Athens is that sustainable and organic crops are in high demand by local individuals and restaurants. There are so many farms in the surrounding area that Monsanto free - no chemicals and the like. Awesome stuff!

Since it's raining all day here, I'm going to start devouring the books on foraging. Yay! I'm going to focus on the southeast in general since I live in the Piedmont but often travel to Coastal Plains. I'll make sure to try to include information about other areas in the US too! :) I'm so glad you're interested in the topic! I can't wait to make my first fully foraged meal. Yum!
